About WingReserve
WingReserve is an independent travel comparison site. We don't sell flights, hotels, eSIMs or insurance, and we never take your payment. What we do is research what things actually cost, publish the working behind every figure, and point you to the provider who sells it.
When you book through one of our links, that provider pays us a commission. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid going to them directly. That commission is the only way this site is funded — there is no advertiser paying for placement, and no provider paying to rank higher.
The site launched in November 2024 and is still small. We think you should know that before you decide how much weight to give anything here.
What WingReserve Is — and What It Isn't
Plenty of travel sites describe themselves in ways that don't survive a close look. Here is ours, in both directions.
What we are
- An independent comparison and research site

- A place that names its sources and shows its assumptions
- Run by one person, publicly named on this page
- Free to use, with no account and no signup
What we are not
- Not a travel agency and not a booking platform — we can't issue, change or refund a ticket
- Not a meta-search engine of our own; we use search tools built by our partners
- Not a company that negotiates exclusive rates — nobody gives a site this size special pricing
- Not a team of staff writers, and not a 24-hour support desk
- Not a place that will ever show you a fake countdown or "4 people are viewing this"
How We Make Money
The short version
Most links on this site to a flight, hotel, eSIM, transfer, car rental, insurance policy or attraction ticket are affiliate links. If you click one and book, the provider pays us a percentage of what they earn.
You are not charged anything extra. The price you see is the provider's normal price. Our commission comes out of their margin, not your wallet.
We work with providers through Travelpayouts, which is the affiliate network that connects us to companies including Kiwi.com, Trip.com, Aviasales, Airalo, Kiwitaxi, Radical Storage, EconomyBookings, Ekta, Tiqets and Compensair.
What that does and doesn't influence
Being paid by commission creates an obvious pull, so it's worth being explicit about where we've drawn the line:
- It decides which categories we cover. We write about flights, hotels, eSIMs, transfers, insurance and luggage storage because those are the things we can earn from. We're not pretending otherwise.
- It does not decide the order of our recommendations. When we say one option is better for a given traveller, that's the reason we say it. Several of our guides recommend the cheaper option that pays us less — the Elizabeth line over a private transfer for solo travellers, or rail over a taxi at JFK.
- It does not stop us saying something isn't worth it. If a product is a poor deal, we say so, including products we're paid to link to.

How We Research and Price Things
Most travel content repeats figures from other travel content, which is how a fee that was abolished eighteen months ago is still being quoted today. We try to work differently, and these are the rules we hold ourselves to.
Our editorial standards
- Prices come from the source, not from other blogs
- Fares and fees are checked against airport authorities, transit operators, regulators and government portals — Transport for London, Aeroporti di Roma, the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission, Vietnam Railways, national immigration departments. Every guide lists which sources were used.
- Every price is labelled by type
- Official means a published government or operator rate. Typical range means observed market pricing. Estimate means our own calculation. You should always be able to tell which one you're reading.
- Assumptions are stated, not hidden
- Every budget table says what it includes and excludes — whether flights are counted, whether it's per person or per group, which exchange rate was used. A number without its assumptions isn't information.
- Everything carries the date it was checked
- Travel prices and entry rules change constantly. Each guide states the month its figures were verified, so you can judge how stale they might be.
- We flag what isn't settled yet
- When a rule has been announced but hasn't taken effect, we say so rather than reporting it as current — and we leave it out of the budget totals.
- We name the parts that aren't cheap
- A country can belong on a budget list and still have areas where the bargain has gone. We'd rather tell you that than sell you a headline.
- We tell you to verify before you book
- Our figures are starting points for planning, not quotes. Confirm the live price with the provider and current entry requirements with the relevant government before you commit money.
What We Won't Do
- We won't invent urgency. No countdown timers, no "only 2 left at this price", no fabricated scarcity.
- We won't sell your data. We don't ask you to create an account, and we don't have a mailing list to sell. See our privacy policy for what analytics we do collect.
- We won't quote a price we haven't checked. If we can't verify a figure against a source we're willing to name, we leave it out.
- We won't claim capabilities we don't have. This page used to describe a meta-search engine and exclusive negotiated rates. Neither existed. It has been rewritten, and this note stays here as a record of that.
Corrections and Contact
Prices move, fees are abolished, operators change their terms. If you find something on this site that's out of date or wrong, please tell us — corrections are the cheapest way for a small site to stay useful.
